It started with a broken calendar
One evening after the kids went down, a well-intentioned husband opened the
shared family calendar to enter next year's school schedule, and proceeded to
break every rule of the elaborate system one of us had carefully (manually!)
built at the start of the year. Three kids, one dog, busy life. Five Google
calendars, each with its own protocol, none of it written down anywhere except
one person's head. That night we started building a system that could hold the
rules for us. It still runs. Teaching other parents to build their own is how
Open Hours started.
